Pamphlets Used to Earn this Badge

Requirements October 1914 until June 1952

1. Present a satisfactory free-hand drawing.

2. Draw without accurate measurements, the five orders of architecture, the drawings being of the nature of sketches, but preserving the proportions.

3. Write an historical outline of the important periods of architectural development, giving the names of the important recognized architects identified with the development of each style.

4. Submit an original design for a two-story house, and tell what material is necessary for its construction, giving an outline of the specifications, the design to consist of original working drawings at scale, drawn in ink on linen or paper suitable for making prints.

The web pages of the Scouting Memories Project (SMP) provide access to descriptions and digital copies of photographs, memorabilia, oral and video recordings of Scouting events and activities.

SMP’s records span the history of the Scouting Program, and it is our charge to preserve these materials and to make them publicly accessible as part of the historical record.
