Requirements January 1928 until June 1952

1. Put a new handle in a farm tool, such as axe, rake, hoe, scythe, or shovel, and demonstrate how to sharpen a scythe and a mower sickle.

2. Suggest a plan for labor saving operation involving the use of a gas engine on the Scout's home farm. If circumstances permit, put this plan into actual operation.

3. Demonstrate three ways of splicing wires in farm fencing.

4. Demonstrate how to adjust and actually operate one or more of the following farm machines: corn planter, seeder, tractor, mowing machine, silo filler, corn harvester or manure spreader, as used on the Scout's home farm.

5. Explain fully how to repair farm machinery and how to care for it, both when in use and in storage. Tell what experience he has had in the care and repair of such machinery.
